Making hearing aids affordable: explore funding options to suit your needs

We understand that the cost of hearing aids and related services can be a concern for many, but various funding options for hearing aids are available to help manage these expenses. Whether you’re eligible for government programs, workplace insurance, or private medical coverage, we can guide you through the available resources. Below are some of the third-party funding sources that may be available to you.

Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL)

The Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) program provides hearing aid funding for Albertans over the age of 65. We are an authorized vendor with AADL and will directly bill the program for your hearing aid coverage, helping to reduce the overall cost. Our team is available to assist you through the application process, ensuring you receive the full support you”re entitled to.

Workers’ Compensation Board – Alberta (WCB-AB)

If you’ve experienced hearing loss due to a work-related environment, the Alberta Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB-AB) may provide coverage for your hearing aids and related services. WCB-AB covers hearing tests, hearing aids, and follow-up care for workers whose hearing loss is determined to be work-related. North Star Hearing will provide information on aspects of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss and can help with the necessary application and reports required by WCB to ensure a smooth process for obtaining your hearing aids and any needed follow-up care.

Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB)

The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program offers coverage for hearing aids and related health services for eligible First Nations and Inuit individuals. Through this program, you can access funding for hearing assessments, hearing aids, and any necessary maintenance. North Star Hearing has extensive experience working with NIHB, and we can guide you through the process to ensure you receive the hearing care you need.

Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)

Veterans who served in the Canadian Armed Forces may be eligible for hearing aid funding through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). If your hearing loss is related to your military service, VAC can cover the full cost of hearing assessments, devices, and ongoing care. At North Star Hearing, we are proud to support veterans by providing comprehensive hearing services and assistance with the VAC benefits application process, ensuring you receive the care you deserve.

Private Medical or Insurance Financing

In addition to government and workplace programs, many private medical insurance plans offer coverage for hearing aids and related services. Private insurance benefits often include hearing tests, hearing aids, and maintenance. For those without insurance or who need additional financial support, we also offer flexible financing options to help manage the cost of hearing aids.
