Hearing health plays a significant role in productivity and safety. Our specialized services are tailored to meet the unique needs of businesses and professionals, helping you or your team maintain optimal hearing and WCB-AB compliance.
Our business is a full-time hearing clinic. We are experts in hearing, and hearing is all we do. You can trust that your employees will be cared for properly, carefully, and with the expertise only a medical clinic can provide.
Industrial Hearing Tests & Audiometric Assessments
We are an authorized hearing assessment and hearing aid vendor for the Workers Compensation Board of Alberta, so we know how critical it is to maintain compliance with WCB-AB.
For workers in identified areas of noise, we provide on-site or in-clinic hearing tests for initial baseline testing, follow-up annual tests, and two-year follow-up tests. We manage your company database, provide annual data for any shifts or changes in worker”s hearing, and provide full medical testing (free of charge) for anyone with an abnormal screening result.
Testing and management of the database are handled by our clinic”s certified and current Audiometric Technicians, Registered Hearing Aid Practitioners, and a Doctor of Audiology who provides the professional paperwork for WCB compliance.

Individual Hearing Tests for Work
If your employer has asked you to get a hearing test, we”ll be more than happy to provide the testing and paperwork required for pre-employment or annual hearing testing. If you end up with an abnormal screening, we will even provide the required medical testing at no charge! You can easily book online or call us to book this quick and easy 15-minute appointment.
Custom Hearing Protection
Protecting your employee”s hearing in high-noise environments is essential. North Star Hearing makes Custom-Fit Hearing Protection that helps employees to be more compliant and comfortable in the workplace while protecting them from noise-induced hearing loss and abnormal hearing shifts.
Our clinicians are licensed, certified, and insured to provide this invasive and restricted-activity earmold procedure and are governed by the Alberta Health Professions Restricted Activity Regulations. Significant damage to the auditory system and ears can easily happen if this procedure goes awry, and there are very few professions that are legally allowed to make earmold impressions and be insured for this specific activity.
We provide impression procedures in our clinic, or can provide on-site earmold impression sessions. Please contact us for more information.
Standard Hearing Protection
For businesses looking for cost-effective solutions, we offer standard hearing protection that meets industry safety standards. Whether you need earplugs or earmuffs for your employees, we can help you choose the best option to protect your workforce from hearing damage in noisy environments.
Hearing Preservation Counseling
We see the result of long-term exposure to noise in our clinic every day – we know how important it is to educate and guide employees toward compliance and to be proactive for themselves. Every interaction with a worker includes discussion and personalized advice on protecting hearing, managing sound exposure, and preventing hearing loss over time.
Hearing Support for Working Professionals
Do you know that having untreated hearing loss can statistically lower your earning potential, limit opportunities for professional development, or even get you passed over for promotions? (link here!)
